Back in February when Joe announced his candidacy for the State Senate, he promised a transparent campaign and open dialogue with you, the voters of the 3rd Bristol & Plymouth District. In that spirit, Joe has been crisscrossing the entire district engaging in meaningful discussion on the issues uniquely important in each community.
Whether it’s talking about the need to fully fund our public schools, ensuring every resident has access to safe and convenient healthcare, or making sure we have a vibrant regional economy driven by good paying jobs, and environmentally conscious decisions Joe wants to talk to you.
Whether it’s on the phone, in-person over coffee or a house party in your neighborhood Joe wants to hear from you. So, if you’re interested in a substantive conversation, give Joe a shout!
“First and foremost, I believe strongly that any talk about the potential closing of a community hospital like Morton is simply unacceptable. If Morton were to close, this entire region would have longer distances to drive for emergency care and basic healthcare. Moreover, there are thousands of hospital employees across the district. And those jobs? I pledge to you to fight for each and every one.”
“My desire to serve is rooted in my family’s history of service, which spans four generations, and over 100 years. Given that, it should be no surprise that as your State Senator I will always fight for our Seniors, those who have given so much of themselves for generations forward.
Whether it be expanding healthcare services, ensuring local hospitals remain open, or fighting to take steps here in the Commonwealth to battle escalating prescription drug prices, I will be a tireless advocate on Beacon Hill.”
“A robust economy and a healthy environment need not be mutually exclusive goals. As your State Senator, I will look for opportunities for our district to be a leader in the new Green Economy, where growth in employment, income and our commercial tax base are driven by public and private investment in enhanced clean energy strategies, resource efficiency and preservation.
We need to be investing not only in the present, but in our future as well. And that includes the water we drink and the air we breath.”
“For me, it’s simple. I’m the son and great-grandson of cops, and so you better believe I respect the commitment to service from our first responders. As your State Senator, I will be focused on ensuring they have the training, and tools needed to do their jobs in an efficient and safe manner, and will support legislation aimed at strengthening public safety in the district as well as across the Commonwealth.”
“Growing up, I learned the value of a dollar and a hard days work at the knee of my grandfather, Jim Pacheco, who started the Pacheco Egg company out of the back of an old, rusted Ford pick up truck in 1943. That company lasted a few years, 60 to be exact, and during that time you can be certain I learned a thing or two about the economy and how it really works.
Know this, as your State Senator, I will be laser focused on economic development, job creation and retention, and the lifeblood of any economy – small locally owned businesses.
Making ends meet is hard on almost every family. On Beacon Hill, I’ll be there for yours.”
“Massachusetts led the nation in providing affordable health care to all its citizens under the leadership of a Democratic Senate President and a Democratic Legislature. If elected, I pledge to continue their work, and the work of countless others, to expand that coverage throughout the Commonwealth while making it even more affordable for all.”
“As your next State Senator, rest assured I will stand firm and unwavering in my commitment to protecting the reproductive rights of women in the Commonwealth. Now more than ever, we here in Massachusetts must be resolute in fighting back. I pledge I will do just that.”
“I’m the proud product of public education, K-12 right here in the District. From there I studied at Bridgewater State, a public university. I believe strongly in public education and ensuring our children are receiving only the best that the Commonwealth can offer. I’d like to take a moment to let the parents of school age children in the District know that you’ll have no stronger ally in the State Senate than Joe Pacheco.”
“Having served as a Selectman in my hometown for 17-years, I know the unique challenges cities and towns face when striving to meet the state’s mandate of 10% affordable housing. I also know how many families struggle with the cost of housing. That’s why I am so proud of the fact that Raynham has not only met the 10% requirement, we’ve exceeded it and today stand at 15%.”
